Just Another Day
Just Another Day is a short Bitsy adventure game about an IT technician going to work.
How to Play:
Move with WASD or the arrow keys.
Items will automatically be added to an unseen inventory and used when necessary.
This project was done as part of a TWU Mini Bitsy Game Jam centred around the theme of Empathy from chapter 2 of Ian Bogost's book "How To Do Things With Videogames".
Just Another Day is brief. My intention with it was to capture a brief snapshot of the emotions of an everyday white-collar worker.

This game was very brief, but I liked what I played. I thought the puzzle was good, although simple, and it felt like I was dealing with an IT issue. One small nitpick is that when the other employee tells you where to go, he says it's "down the hall to your left," but you to to the door on the right. I guess it's to the left from the character's perspective, but it's to the right from the player's perspective, so it was slightly confusing.

The visual is crazy, especially when I walked out from the room to the street.
The game is kinda short which I didn't expect to end that moment (but honestly I feels my game is short as well). You have a very good concept so if is longer it will be very enjoyable!
Since the player and the setting is a normal human being, it makes more relate more with him.
Good work!

I liked the game, the art is impressive, and the ending made me chuckle, it showcases how simple some pleasures in life can be, such as playing Rocket League. I understand how the empathy theme is explored here, by making you be in the shoes of someone who doesn't want to go to work, but realizes it isn't that bad. The server room "puzzle" was very creative in the sense of using art and animations to figure it out.

This is pretty good though falls short a bit. I really liked the server room area, that was pretty fun to play! Functionally it is sound. Creativity wise, I wish you went further with it. It has sparks of interesting moments and intrigued, but ends rather soon. Theme wise it is touching the surface of Empathy and doesn't quite go as deep in the discussion, but I have a feeling that's due to running out of time. Overall, visually this is pretty cool and well done - it has that going for it. It just needs to now deliver on the story and impact, and I think you have what it takes. I encourage you to explore more moments like the server room.
